One team, start to finish.
Queen City Software is a small team of senior engineers in Covington, Kentucky, just across the river from Cincinnati. Since 2017 we've designed, built and supported custom software, from web platforms and native Mac apps to AI pipelines and cloud infrastructure, for clients including Amazon MGM Studios, Lionsgate, and National Grid.
// 01 · THE STUDIO
Who you'll work with.
The engineers on your first call are the ones who plan your project and write the code, and your questions go straight to them. Every one of them has shipped this kind of work before: an AI pipeline that ran 709 personalized trials in three days on the CES floor, a campaign platform that took Lionsgate's launch traffic, native Mac apps, cloud infrastructure, and plugins that run inside After Effects.
We size the team to the job. When a project needs a skill outside ours, say a 2D game or original illustration, we bring in a specialist we've worked with and manage them as part of the team, so you still get one plan, one price, and one point of contact.
If you're in Greater Cincinnati or Northern Kentucky, we're glad to meet in person. Queen City Software was founded by Dave Averdick, who has spent twenty years building software across startups, advertising, and enterprise consulting.
// 02 · HOW WE WORK
Your cost, upfront.
The price in our proposal is the price you pay, as long as the scope stays the same. If it changes, you see the new price before we build anything.
First, we listen.
Sometimes that takes one call, sometimes three rounds of them. We talk with everyone who has a stake in the project, the people paying for it, running it, and using it, until we understand your goals and what needs to be built.
Research.
If you have existing code, we dig into it. If you're starting fresh, we work out the best technical path to your goals, and often that means building small experiments to find the answer. All of it happens before we write the proposal, so we both know the path, and the price is one we can hold to.
Working together, as often as it takes.
Early on, that might be one meeting in three weeks, with emails confirming the details. Near launch, it might be twice a week. You see working software along the way, and your feedback shapes what comes next.
Behind the scenes.
Accessibility, security checks, automated deployments, load testing, automated tests, browser and device compatibility, search optimization. The work you don't want to think about, because you have a business to run and a product roadmap to own.
Sixty days of support, on every project.
A senior engineer is on hand through launch to fix anything that day. For sixty days after, bugs and edge cases are on us: if we missed something, we fix it, with no invoice.
“[Queen City Software] was instrumental in helping my co-founder and I conceptualize, design and bring to life our vision for a completely new web-based interior decor service. The thoughtful service helped us navigate our way through several complex iterations.”
— Kim Mancini, Co-Founder, Interior Agency
// 03 · WHO WE WORK WITH
From film studios to the business down the street.
Different industries, different sizes, different ways of working. We adapt to yours: the tools your team already uses, how you like to communicate, the systems your software has to live alongside. We take the time to understand what you need and why, then build exactly that. When we see a better way to do something, we'll tell you, and the call is still yours.
// 04 · WHAT WE'VE BUILT
A few of the things we've built.
From an AI experience on the CES floor to the review tool a Los Angeles agency uses every day.
